- World Soccer Today -

The Premier League has referred Manchester City to an independent commission over claims of violating financial regulations. The alleged infractions occurred between the 2009/10 season and the 2017/18 season.

Manchester City is accused of not providing accurate financial information that accurately reflects the club's financial standing, in accordance with league rules. This information includes revenue, sponsorship revenue, related parties, and operating costs.

Manchester City has yet to respond to the allegations. The independent commission will review the case and determine if the club is guilty of the breaches.

If found guilty, the club may face consequences, such as fines or a reduction in points.

The outcome of the investigation will likely have significant implications for Manchester City's future in the Premier League.

The second set of accusations against Manchester City involves alleged violations of rules that require the club to disclose full information on manager and player remuneration in their contracts.

The manager in question is Roberto Mancini, who was in charge from December 2009 to May 2013.

In addition, the club is also accused of not complying with UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations as required by the Premier League.

Manchester City faced a two-year ban from UEFA competitions for these allegations in 2020, but the ban was later overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport .
