Rutgers Basketball: Kevin Willard Brings Winning Culture to Scarlet Knights

Rutgers basketball fans, get ready for an exciting season ahead! Kevin Willard, the new head coach of the Scarlet Knights, is coming to town and bringing a fresh energy to the program.

Willard, who has previously coached at Seton Hall and Iona, is known for his strong leadership skills and ability to develop talent. In his ten seasons as head coach of Seton Hall, he led the Pirates to four NCAA Tournament appearances and two NIT appearances. He is also the winningest coach in Iona history, leading the Gaels to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

With Willard at the helm, Rutgers fans can expect to see a more competitive and cohesive team on the court. Willard is known for his emphasis on player development and team chemistry, and he will be looking to bring those values to the Scarlet Knights.

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Willard is confident that his team will be ready to compete at a high level. "I'm excited to get to work with this group of young men," he said. "We have a lot of talent and potential, and I'm confident that we can make some noise in the Big Ten this season."
