Chiefs- Texans LIVE updates Texans strike first, up 7- 0 at end of first quarter

 The Kansas City Chiefs opened their 2022 season with eight successive games against brigades that had winning records in 2021. They've also faced the defending NFC and AFC titleholders and an AFC West that went out of its way to load up with largely- priced free agents in trouble to stop Kansas City’s string of six division crowns.

 But with four games remaining in the season, Kansas City is on the road with its 10- 3 record, taking just one palm to decide its eighth straight playoff situation and seventh successive division crown. Standing in its way are the Houston Texans. Under new head trainer Lovie Smith, the ballot has collected just one palm( and a tie) in 2022 — but a week ago, Houston nearly knocked off the 9- 3 Dallas cowhands. 

First quarter 

The Chiefs won the opening coin toss, taking to postpone their decision to the alternate half. As a result, Houston began with the ball — starting from the 25- yard line after a touchback.

 Houston got rolling with a quick screen to wide receiver Amari Rodgers that broke through into the third position for a first down. Following that, tackles in the run game by linebacker Nick Bolton and protective end Frank Clark forced a third down, where tight content forced a gamble down. The Chiefs ’ defense forced a quick punt to start the game. 

A slant to wide receiver Juju Smith- Schuster started the Chiefs ’ opening drive, gaining seven yards and setting up third and short; tight end Travis Kelce moved the sticks on a quick megahit — also moved them again on the following play.
